| Abstract: | A significant number of Malta's Second World War veterans, including both civilians and military personnel, are now in their late 80s or 90s. Regrettably, many of them have already passed away. It is surprising that only a small number of people walking past the main entrance to Sliema's government elementary schools on Blanche Street are aware that this particular building used to house one of the most important war offices for the Sliema wartime civil defence - the Air Raid Precautions (ARP) Centre. This insight is provided by Anthony Zarb Dimech. |
