Abstract: [Excerpt] A SELECTION OF ARTICLES, ETC. FROM "THE MORNING POST" OF FEBRUARY 7, 1837. The last dates from Malta are to the 15th of January. The internal affairs of Malta were tranquil and satisfactory, with the exception of some few lawyers, who were among the first to foment strife, and will, of course, be the last to desist from the folly of their proceedings. The new Governor, Sir H. Bouverie, was much liked ; his conduct had been conciliatory, but firm ; and, as he had shown no disposition to temporize with the anti-English party, citizen Camillo Sceberras and his friends were falling fast into disrepute, and the bulk of the people were returning to their natural attachment to the British Crown.
