Abstract: This report provides a comprehensive analysis of crime statistics for the year 2010 along with a comparative overview of crime trends from 2009. The data used for this analysis is derived from official crime statistics. The purpose of this report is to identify significant changes in crime rates and to offer insights into underlying trends. Crime increases by 12% from 2009 to 2010. However, just one category of crime (Theft) is mainly responsible for this increase, in addition to another crime “Domestic Violence” also on the increase. Arson, Bodily Harm, Domestic Violence, Damages, Computer Misuse, Forgery, Perjury and False Swearing, Sexual Offences, Theft and Threats and Private Violence increased. Drugs, Fraud, Immigration and Violence against Public Officers decreased.
