Abstract: This report provides a comprehensive analysis of crime statistics for the year 2011 along with a comparative overview of crime trends from 2010. The data used for this analysis is derived from official crime statistics. The purpose of this report is to identify significant changes in crime rates and to offer insights into underlying trends. Crime increases by 7% from 2010 to 2011. However, just one category of crime (Theft) is mainly responsible for this increase, in addition to another crime “Domestic Violence” also on the increase. Domestic Violence, Damages, Drugs, Computer Misuse, Forgery, Fraud, Homicides, Perjury and False Swearing, Sexual Offences, Theft and Violence Against Public Officer increased, whilst Bodily Harm and Prostitution decreased.
