Abstract: This report provides a comprehensive analysis of crime statistics for the year 2012, along with a comparative overview of crime trends from 2011. The data used for this analysis is derived from the Malta Police NPS containing crime statistics. The purpose of this report is to identify significant changes in crime rates and to offer insights into underlying trends. Crime jumps 9% from 2011 to 2012, maintaining its consistent increase since 2009! However, just one category of crime (Damages) is mainly responsible for this increase. Domestic Violence, Drugs, Computer Misuse, Forgery, Fraud, Perjury, Sexual Offences, Theft and Violence Against Public Officer increased, whilst Bodily Harm and prostitution decreased.
