Abstract: This report provides a comprehensive analysis of crime statistics for the year 2007 along with a year-overyear comparative overview of crime trends from 2004 to 2007. The data used for this analysis is derived from official crime statistics. The purpose of this report is to identify significant changes in crime rates and to offer insights into underlying trends. Theft is mainly responsible crime in the Maltese Islands though decreasing from 62.4% in 2004 to 59.7% in 2007. Bodily Harm, Computer Misuse, Domestic Violence, Drugs, Immigration, Perjury and False Swearing, Pornography, Prostitution and Sexual Offences increased. All other crimes either experienced no change or decreased.
