Programme of the festivities to be given by the Maltese people on the arrival of H.R.H the Prince of Wales

Abstract

The Committee appointed to direct the festivities to be given by the Maltese People, on the day of the arrival of his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales in this Island, have made the following arrangements : I. His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, who is expected to arrive on the morning of the 6th April next, will be requested to land at the place fitted up for that purpose by the Committee, near the new Police Station, at the Marsa. 2. From that place to the Palace in Valletta, across Piazza St'Anna at Floriana, the Prince will be preceded by a procession composed as follows : 1st. Two gentlemen carrying, one the Union Jack and the other the Maltese Colours, preceded by the band "La Nazionale;" 2nd. A Deputation from each of the Casals, Suburbs, and Cities of Malta, and another from Gozo; 3rd. The Students of the University and the Lyceums, preceded by the band "La Vincitrice ;" 4th. A Deputation from the Agrarian Society, and another from the Society of Arts, preceded by the band "La Valletta ; " 5th. A Deputation from the Commercial Classes, and another from the Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers ; 6th. The Professors of the University and the Teachers of the Lyceums, not belonging to the Professions hereinafter mentioned; 7th.
