Abstract: In this paper, we show that the principle of equality, whereby individual votes are all equal, is not compatible with a private financing mechanism of parties. Consequently, neither a democratic country should adopt it, nor a country that adopts it, should base its democracy on that equality. In questo articolo mostriamo come ii principio di uguaglianza nel diritto di voto, peril quale ii peso di ogni voto e identico per tutti gli individui, non e compatibile con ii meccanismo di finanziamento privato dei partiti. Ne consegue che nessun paese democratico dovrebbe adottarlo e che nessun paese che lo adotti dovrebbe fondare la propria democrazia su di esso.
