| Abstract: | Hilda Castaldi was a valued member of staff at the Royal Malta Library. Her contribution is now largely forgotten. An attempt is here made to revive interest in her work as part of the ‘Pioneers in Libraries and Archives’ initiative. This article is also intended to celebrate the contribution that Maroma Camilleri has given to the sector, up to her recent retirement from the National Library of Malta. Castaldi, like Maroma, worked behind the scenes but her contribution to the library sector in Malta needs to be recovered. This article aims to encourage further research about this important personality for the Maltese library sector. |
