| Abstract: | The article discusses the historical journey and recent rediscovery of the icon of Our Lady of Philermos. Revered by the Knights of St. John since 1307, the icon was moved from Rhodes to Malta, then to Russia, and subsequently to Yugoslavia, where it survived multiple conflicts and relocations. Recently confirmed to be housed in Montenegro's National Museum, the icon remains in good condition, featuring its original rich gold covering and precious stones, thus allowing for a comprehensive iconographic and stylistic study. |
