Abstract: Christmas is for family and the company of our loved ones. The Maltese come together to enjoy meals and beverages, partake in music, exchange gifts, and celebrate in numerous ways. A beloved tradition in Malta is the annual Christmas pantomime at the theatre. The image of the pantomime dame interacting with the audience from the Teatru Manoel stage is a humorous one, raising questions about its historical roots.
