Abstract: Anton Inglott (1915–1945) was a renowned Maltese artist, known for his evocative war-time artworks and deeply religious pieces, despite his short life and ongoing battle with ill health. Educated at Malta’s School of Art and later the Regia Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, his works were inspired by the Italian Renaissance and his spiritual inclinations. Inglott returned to Malta during World War II, creating powerful depictions of the war’s impact and culminating in his masterpiece, *The Death of St. Joseph*. He tragically passed away at age 30, on Victory in Japan Day (August 15, 1945). Inglott’s artistic legacy endures through numerous exhibitions and critical acclaim for his profound contributions to Maltese art.
