This had been a problem during the colonial reigns of both the Knights of Malta and the British. This article, focuses on the deadliest of Carnival gatherings, were a series of murders occurred. From the cold blooded murder instigated by Giovanni Mattera to the death of Septimus Adams in a duel opposing John Levick. And the more recent trial of Ċensu Azzopardi in the late 19th century.
