Abstract: This article explores the mysterious painting of Mary Magdalen in the Chapel of Italy at St. John’s Co-Cathedral, which has long puzzled art historians. While Caravaggio’s St. Jerome dominates the space, the identity of the artist behind the Magdalen remained unclear for centuries. New research attributes the painting to Sisto Badalocchio (1581–1647).
