Abstract: Albert Ganado began his exploration for maps of Malta, aiming to gather and study maps from both Malta and abroad, utilizing resources in libraries and the antique map market. He forged a comprehensive network of international contacts, which provided him the opportunity to select not only decorative maps but also rare Maltese maps, including those located in the notable Lafreri atlases, during a period of diminished demand.
