Abstract: The object of the following pages is to direct the attention of medical men, in England and elsewhere, to the advantages possessed by this island, as a place of temporary residence for such persons as require a change of climate for the restoration of their health. In speaking of Malta as a resort for the delicate in health, I, of course, must be understood to mean during the winter season only, or from the beginning of October to the end of May. I state this at once, as it seems to me to remove every objection offered by writers on the climate of Malta, who talk of the oppressive heat, and depressing winds, of the four summer months.
