Abstract: This article tells the story of the De Vincenzio Tower in Mqabba, built in 1726 by Fra Orpheus De Vincenzio, a high-ranking Knight of St John. The unique two-tiered tower once offered views as far as Sicily, but was severely damaged during World War II and later mostly demolished. Its commemorative stone and coat of arms were removed for safekeeping but later disappeared when the market building storing them was demolished.
Description: From the private collection of Mr. Salvino Camilleri.
