| Abstract: | The morpho-syntactic and semantic properties of the construction containing a noun in the Construct State in Maltese are discussed, providing a description of the typical characteristics of such constructions. The Construct State is then contrasted to the Pseudo-Construct State, as well as to Complex Name Formation, and a possible structural analysis is suggested which can account for some of the differences observed. |
