| Abstract: | Pharmacy education at the Department of Pharmacy, University of Malta consists of a two-cycle programme where students from the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Sciences enroll in a three-semester course leading to a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree. Students can join the Master of Pharmacy degree during the October or February intake. The Master of Pharmacy degree provides the pathway to register as a pharmacist in Malta. With the MPharm degree, pharmacists wishing to expand their studies at doctoral level may join the three-year Doctorate in Pharmacy programme. The Doctorate in Pharmacy programme is offered in collaboration with the University of Illinois in Chicago. An objective was to increase access to international students to post-graduate studies through the doctorate course and offer pharmacists with studies received outside the European Union (EU) the possibility to complete their studies to Master level. |
