Abstract: The word ‘veganism’ is defined as the asceticism of animal products and by-products from one’s diet. A ‘vegan’ is an individual who follows the diet and the philosophy, which is based on the idea that using animals as a commodity is ethically wrong. The objective of this research is to examine veganism and its impact on the local scene, including the perception of the vegan community and the versatility of the catering industry to accommodate this new niche market.
