| Abstract: | The ISPAD project is an Erasmus+ funded project running between 2016–2019. Led by the Department of Nursing, University of Malta, it involves nine European nurse education entities from six countries. One goal of the project is to develop simulation champions in each partner institution to promote leadership in simulation-based nurse education. Another aim is to create a shared set of simulation resources for nursing students. This paper presents: (i) the development of a 5 ECTS EQF Level 6 training programme created by the University of Malta and Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Finland; and (ii) findings from a qualitative evaluation of this programme, including focus groups with conveners (n=4) and trainees (n=5). Thematic analysis of transcribed audio data highlighted key challenges, including the diversity of participants’ simulation teaching experience and varying interpretations of debriefing practices. Given global momentum in simulation-based education, this international initiative and its evaluation offer timely insights for nurse educators. |
