Abstract: Entomophagy, the practise of eating insects, has recently gained popularity due to its positive effects on health, the ecosystem, and the economy (Lange & Nakamura, 2021). Entomophagy is practised in most regions of the world. According to the The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, insects are a mainstay of diets in parts of Asia, Africa, and Latin America, but are notably prevalent in the tropics, where over 2,000 different species of insects have been identified as being consumable and are consumed for their taste.
