Abstract: Irrespective of any organisation’s decision to maintain a status quo, society moves on. The foundational elements of society being politics, religion, economy, family, education and now technology experience change, whatever the direction. The organisations operating within such a construct either evolve with society, slam their breaks or expire. Policing cannot afford the latter and neither can the same society, it being so integrated into the operational arms of the powers of state; the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. From one of the largest Chapters in the laws of Malta to the maintenance of law and order as well as the interactivity with the courts, the Malta Police Force is a fulcrum in such change. As a veritable precursor policing force, it has managed to kickstart a transformation towards a modern, efficient and affective entity. This is not stated to display one’s laurels, but society has spoken and the main returns through national and international surveys, entity reviews and other assessments, the MPF shows that its targets to increase trust has borne fruit. Eurobarometer depicts that the public trust the Police more than the Judiciary, political parties and the media.
