| Abstract: | How dull would technology seem to the untrained eye without the flair of an artistic touch! And yet what would art be without technology? A delicate balance exists between these two disciplines and only by fusing together can a product or process be successful in today’s competitive market. There are many products that thrive on this symbiosis in today’s world. The car industry, for example, does not only rely on the reliability and cost effectiveness of the technology used for the design of salient parts such as the engines, but also heavily depends on aesthetical issues which decide the shape of the car. A car’s external shape may stem from the designers creative mind, however, since the car’s performance also depends on this parameter it is never purely artistic. [excerpt] |
