Abstract: Charles the VIII. having occupied by military force the realm of Neaples whose sovereign Ferrante the II. of Aragona was then in Messina, one of his faithful Barons, John of Capua (the same who died in the battle of Seminara fighting for his king) came secretly from the capital into Calabria for defending the rights of the Aragonese, and succeeded to enlist himself with the Swiss who formed a part of the garrison under the command of general D' Aubigny, with the intention of better serving in such a manner the cause of Ferrante the II…[Excerpt]
