| Abstract: | Adelia is a three act opera. Count Oliviero loves Adelia, daughter of the soldier Arnoldo, but their union violates the Duke of Burgundy’s harsh law against nobles marrying commoners. Torn between love, honor, and the threat of death, the couple faces separation until the Duke relents, recognizing Arnoldo’s valor and allowing the marriage. |
