| Abstract: | Teodora, secretly married to Erardo, is pursued by Prince Arrigo of Provence, who had originally sent Erardo to arrange the match for himself. To hide the truth, Teodora’s foster-sister Brigida impersonates her, but the deception unravels. Teodora’s father Roberto reappears in disguise, the lovers face exposure and peril, but at last Arrigo forgives the betrayal and consents to their union. [Excerpt]. |
