| Abstract: | This dissertation explores and develops the Self-Fashion Formula (SFF), a comprehensive framework aimed at facilitating authentic personal aesthetic choices and enhancing self-expression. The SFF seeks to explore the complex connection between personal style and individual identity, drawing on a range of research from psychology, sociology, design, and fashion. The study explores the intricate connections between Carl Jung's theories, colour theory, design psychology, and fashion psychology. It delves into the underlying mechanisms that shape aesthetic decisions and examines their impact on self-awareness and well-being. The dissertation provides a thorough examination of the existing literature and empirical data, shedding light on the relationship amongst personality traits, emotional responses, and societal influences in the development of personal style. The study delves into the intricate links between aesthetic preferences, personality traits, and emotional states using mood boards and visual representations. The research concludes with the creation of the SFF, a versatile and customisable framework that enables people to harmonise their artistic preferences with their true selves, all while navigating the demands and conventions of society. The dissertation explores the significant impact of the SFF in promoting self-assurance, genuineness, and overall wellness, and presents individuals with a structured approach to self-fashioning, offering a pathway towards enhanced self-awareness and fulfilment. In addition, the study highlights the importance of ongoing self-reflection and adaptation, recognising the ever-changing nature of personal identity and style. The Self-Fashion Formula proves to be a valuable tool for those who wish to develop an authentic and introspective approach to personal style, ultimately enhancing their lives and nurturing a more profound understanding and expression of themselves. |
