Abstract: "Trash or Treasure? – Exploring the Boundaries of Art and Waste" challenges the conventional definitions and boundaries of art by questioning what creates value in art when it is made from discarded materials. In a materialistic world where waste is uncontrolled, this project aims to reveal the value within seemingly invaluable items. Drawing inspiration from Arte Povera and Assemblage Art, the research delves into the philosophical inquiries of value, perception, and preservation. By using scavenged materials and thorough experimentation, the project aims to explore the fine line between art and waste. Making the viewers to contemplate our societal materialistic consumer lifestyle. The main project uses petri dishes as a platform to showcase the transformative potential of waste materials. Through this interdisciplinary exploration, the project seeks to challenge the preconceived notions, inspire reflection, and highlight the complex relationship between art, waste, and value in our contemporary society.
