Abstract: It is often assumed that women with intellectual disabilities (ID) are either asexual or sexually inactive. These assumptions can affect women’s access to sexual health screening, with research suggesting the rate at which women with ID access sexual health screening is much lower than women with other disabilities. This study investigated what was necessary to promote and increase preventative sexual health screening in women with ID in Malta. [extract]
