Abstract: The infantalisation and desexualisation of women with disability have repercussions that affect these women’s health. Amongst others consequences, such beliefs lead to considering breast cancer screening unnecessary for women with disability. Moreover, women with physical and intellectual disability (ID) are further excluded from breast screening due to mobility challenges or consent issues. This study investigated the awareness and knowledge women with ID have about breast cancer and related screening possibilities.
