Abstract: In Malta, perceptions of disability remain influenced by residual eugenic thinking and a persistent charity model, both of which shape how disabled women are viewed as mothers. This study explores how these cultural frameworks impact the mental and physical health of disabled mothers, particularly regarding their reproductive autonomy and legitimacy as parents.
