Abstract: The study looks at how the meaning of place is given through perception and interaction, and how this meaning can be expressed through an audiovisual work. It integrates theoretical perspectives about place meaning, and practical methods of expressing data and abstract ideas through different mediums. Through the use of sonification, visualisations and personal interpretations, data collected from different places is altered through a practice as research based approach, allowing for the personal expression of place meaning. The aim of this audiovisual work is to bridge the gap between abstract and tangible, allowing for a deeper understanding of place and its meaning.
