| Abstract: | The Faculty of Education, in collaboration with the Commerce Department, hosted an informative session on Intellectual Property (IP) rights protection. Organised by Dr Emanuel Mizzi (Business Education Coordinator and Head of Department) and Mr Matthew Pisani (Director of Industrial Property Registration), along with colleagues Ms Gabriella Briffa, Ms Deandra Zerafa, and Mr Mark Borg, the event targeted Business Education students, B.Sc. Design and Technology students, and international SIEC-ISBE members. It provided insights into Malta's IP framework, covering trademarks, patents, and designs registration processes, while supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. Participants learned about IP's role in protecting innovation and creativity, and were introduced to the SME Fund Initiative for practical financial and advisory support. The session highlighted the value of interdisciplinary collaboration in equipping students with essential knowledge to transform innovative ideas into protected, sustainable ventures. |
