| Abstract: | Complete macroscopic cytoreduction is the best prognostic variable a patient could experience during treatment for advanced ovarian cancer. Malta needs to make great strides to satisfy European-standard quality indicators for surgical management of advanced gynaecological cancer, and to progress toward 5-year survival rates of neighbouring countries. Surgical cytoreductive management requires a dedicated centralised team that can provide subspecialised multidisciplinary care. This article provides an overview of the role of cytoreductive surgery along the disease trajectory of advanced tubo-ovarian cancer. |
