| Abstract: | A number of processes may affect the fallopian tube and early diagnosis and treatments may avoid severe and even life-threatening complications. This article will discuss the most common processes including pelvic inflammatory disease, tubal and tubo-ovarian torsion, endometriosis, ectopic pregnancy, and malignant diseases. Since all these conditions may block the fallopian tube, prompt management is important for preserving fertility. The role of fallopian tube neoplasms in the development of ovarian and serous peritoneal neoplasms will be discussed. [excerpt] |
