| Abstract: | S(low) Film works with a very simple premise. Light from a laser is reflected off a surface vibrating through auditory stimuli. The result is essentially a visualisation of the pitch and the amplitude of the audio in the form of a moving image. The work in itself stems from a curiosity around the notion of cinema and sculpture. I have always looked at this somewhat as an extension of the notion of the Expanded Arts of the 1960s and 1970s being dragged into the 21st Century. [excerpt] |
