| Abstract: | Scholars generally deem the one hundred and fifty canonical Psalms of the Old Testament to be the hymn book and prayer book of both Jews and Christians. However, we should note that some Psalms are in fact not prayers; indeed, we find that around thirty Psalms address the congregation and not God. Thus, for example, Psalm 24 addresses the community, whilst Psalm 34: 13-14 has the individual as its addressee. |
