| Abstract: | In this collective feature six contemporary Maltese artists (Gabriel Buttigieg, Peter Seychell, Joseph P. Smith, Catherine Cavallo, Anna Galea and Debbie Bonello) share their personal interpretations of love through a specific work of art. The article explores diverse themes ranging from romantic passion and physical intimacy to the grief of losing a loved one and the deep bond between humans and their pets. Each artist provides a brief discussion on the underlying concept of their chosen piece offering a multifaceted look at how love is expressed in modern Maltese art. |
