Abstract: This article explores the role of ethnographic methods in TIS, examining in brief their advantages, challenges, and the unique contributions they bring to TIS. After providing some background details to ethnography and explaining concisely some of its key concepts, the article outlines how ethnographic methods have been introduced into TIS and how they have been adopted and applied by T&I researchers.
