| Abstract: | Today, higher educational institutions are measured by numbers. They are qualified and ranked by different indicators which reflect the academic expectations posed towards universities and smaller institutes of study, called in some countries colleges. However, these quantitative figures fail to assess the core question, namely whether these institutions have a vision which they follow. This chapter tries to fill this gap by examining the visions behind institutional processes. It does so from a specific perspective and with a specific example in mind. [extract] |
