| Abstract: | Thirty-seven years ago, exactly in 1989, with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the disintegration of the Soviet bloc, an end was decreed to the “cold war” that had kept the world in tension over the nuclear threat. In those years, we all imagined new scenarios, more peaceful times, and more “reasonable” times for humanity. We hailed a new season in which the East-West and North-South divide in the world could be overcome and the danger of nuclear war averted. [extract] |
