Abstract: This research aims to understand the mobile knowledge management support requirements of engineering designers engaged in mobile work situations. The findings of this research contribute to a better comprehension of how engineering designers carry out design tasks away from a knowledge base, and how these designers can be better supported throughout the product lifecycle. This paper describes the findings of an empirical study carried out with practicing engineering designers working in the area of product development.
