University of Malta OAR publications aligned to ERA themes and regulatory domains

Abstract

This chapter assembles a working corpus of 67 University of Malta OAR records aligned to the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) topical structure. The corpus spans 1952 to 2025 and is organised around four ERA-level domains: Environmental Themes, Environmental Assessment, Environmental Permitting, and Environmental Compliance and Enforcement. Most records fall under Environmental Themes, with particularly strong clusters in waste, water, biodiversity, environmental information systems, and land-use change. The assessment corpus is strongest on EIA governance, public participation and coastal case studies. Permitting is represented mainly by legal-institutional work on the planning/environment interface, while compliance and enforcement are represented by a smaller but coherent set of legal, planning and commentary sources. The catalogue is intentionally broad rather than absolute. Every row was assembled from live OAR metadata visible during this session; abstracts reproduce the visible abstract text or a compact excerpt where the OAR page exposed only part of the abstract. Where the abstract was not expanded in the live page view, that limitation is stated explicitly.
