Abstract: The article reports on a severe and unexpected storm that struck Malta and Gozo early in the morning on October 11, 1982. Strong winds reaching a record speed of 72 knots caused roofs and walls to collapse across various localities, including Paola, Sliema, Ħamrun, l-Imġarr, and Birkirkara, resulting in four deaths and 19 injuries. It also details extensive damage to buildings, roads, vehicles, and vessels caused by the gale-force winds.
