Abstract: This document presents "The Engine," an integrated skills training methodology developed as part of the SkillHUBS transnational project co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme. Designed to transform prison education, the model provides prison educators with innovative, non-formal, and co-creative tools to assess, design, and deliver targeted up-skilling programs for inmates. "The Engine" comprises three core interlinked methodologies: (1) Employer Skills Needs Research & Gap Analysis to align skills training with local labor market demands; (2) a Skills Training Curriculum Framework centered on co-creative adult learning and core basic and transversal skills; and (3) an Individual Learner Record system including Learner Contracts and Reflective Diaries to track and validate personal achievements. By fostering human, social, and educational capital, the framework aims to improve prisoner well-being, support desistance, and enhance post-release employment opportunities.
