Abstract: Empagliflozin is an established disease-modifying therapy for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), and has recently become available through the Maltese National Health Service for patients with chronic heart failure. This expanded access is expected to increase empagliflozin use in routine clinical practice, creating a timely opportunity to generate local real-world evidence on its effectiveness and safety.
Aim: To assess clinical outcomes and safety associated with empagliflozin use in patients with HFrEF in routine clinical practice.
