Abstract: The Maltese Islands are exposed to low-to-moderate seismic hazard. Seismic activity around the islands is generally of low magnitude, however, more infrequent, large events in Sicily and as far as the Hellenic arc have affected the country in the past and caused considerable damage (Galea, 2007).
