Abstract: | KDIGO 2012 clinical practice guidelines, strongly recommends that patients with progressive CKD, eGFR less than 30ml/min/1.73m2 or patients with less severe CKD but with significant albuminuria should be considered for specialist referral in a timely fashion 1. We hereby present a study which investigates the referral practices, predictors of non-referral and the frequency of performing urine investigations amongst hospital based non-nephrologist specialist doctors in the CKD population. |
