Abstract: Celebrating one of Malta’s most iconic politicians: Domenico Mintoff (1916-2012). With parents Cetta & Wenzu, Dom was the 3rd child and 1st son in a family of 11. In 1947 he married Moyra de Vere Bentick and had two daughters, Anne & Yana. After an introduction to his early life, Mangion shifts his focus mainly on Mintoff’s experiences and achievements within the political realm. Within a five year plan, his greatest contributions in rebuilding post WW2 Malta included: expanding the economic system, transforming the island from being a military arsenal to a tourist hub, reducing unemployment & mass immigration rates and improving civil and criminal codes (i.e: lifting women’s rights & implementing free universal education). Mintoff is recognized for his organizational mind, unorthodox strategies, and charisma, which not only influenced Malta's own standards but also its place within the rest of the world’s progress. Accompanied by photographs.
